You’d be better off if you visit http://www.musiciansfriend.com where you can find everything you want to buy, including starter kits for a whole lot less. My first guitar and amp came from there back in 1995 (seperately I bought a JOHNSON electric guitar, 10 watt amp, a tuner and pack of picks for under $200).
Remember one thing when buying a Starter Kit, no matter where you buy it – only buy a 10 watt amp and get a guitar that’s not a name brand (Fender, Gibson, etc.) – in case your polyanna doesn’t want to play guitar in 3 years, you won’t be out a ton of cash for an underappreciated gift.
